Malevolent Creation (original vs remaster) Fine Art of Murder

Look at those waveforms and compare to Forbidden Evil.  This is one of those rare instances where the original is the nearly same volume as the remaster.

Solitude Aeturnus- Downfall

I think this contrast is even more stark than Forbidden Evil.  It was done by Metal Mind Productions in 2008 with some of the members of SA having a hand in the remaster.

Forbidden- Forbidden Evil

Three different versions of Forbidden's Forbidden Evil is compared in this video.  Notice how the size of the waveform increases with each release.

If you watch this in the highest setting possible (1080), I think the audio is going to be at a rate of 192kbps.

Original vs. Remaster series

In many instances, the remaster of an album is an improvement.  Theoretically, it SHOULD be an improvement.  Tighter bass, crisper highs, vibrant mids.  But that is not always the case.  This series is an objective comparison of an album's original release, A-B ed against the re-master(s).  I've tried my best to equalize the volume for all examples so when you listen to the examples you are NOT influenced by volume which is definitely a deciding factor in taste. It is human nature to appreciate louder music, probably because as the volume raises (to a certain degree), the frequency range is represented more accurately which is pleasing to the human ear.
